2019年9月15日，来自重庆秀山渝东南游泳健身俱乐部的11名游泳健儿，在队长杨松的带领之下，与来自重庆悦来冬泳队的8名泳友，完成了“中国·彭水乌江20公里游泳马拉松挑战赛”。

参加此次活动的游泳健儿，从彭水县城两江码头下水，途经彭水两江大桥、乌江四桥、乌江画廊，最后在高谷起水，全程近20公里，历时5个多小时。

由于江面风浪较大，水温较低，对运动员的体力消耗较大。但是游泳健儿们不惧困难和艰险，渴了就喝口水，饿了就吃一个面包，向着风浪，向着前方，继续游去。正如队员“阿波罗”所写的《七律畅游乌江》：
一江秋水向北流，
东南健儿竞漂游。
直向高谷四十里，
无惧风吹浪打头。
